There is a light at the end of this tunnel...

Hello all! Thanks again for uplifting us in prayer. It's been so encouraging reading your comments and knowing that so many of you are praying lots! Here's the update as of now...9:57 am. The nurse took out the medicine thingy (that was softening the cervix) this morning at around 3 am. We got some good sleep. The contractions started about 1:30 am but they weren't too bad. At 3 they got worse so she checked me and things had changed but no dialation. The contractions slowed down after she took the medicine out so Wayne and I were able to get a little more sleep. We woke up at 8 this morning and I was able to take a shower before they hooked me back up to the pitocin drip. Doctor came in and checked me and I have dialated 1 to 2 cm. So that is good. Progress is good! The contractions are now about 2 mins apart and I'm feelin it. Yikes! But pain is good! We want the pain! I guess that's all for now....I gotta go breathe through this contraction that's coming on....

Still waiting....

Well, we are still waiting for this guy to get here.....Nancy has been a trooper all day!! Around 3pm, she was having some hard contractions, some even brought tears....It's been a long day, but she has been such a good sport..! Right now she is having something done that will hopefully get things moving....it will help soften her cervix..! If Breiden hasn't come out by morning then they will put her back on the drip and she will try again! For now, Nancy will rest and wait....We will post pictures when Breiden gets here! Keep praying!
P.S. this is Susanne by the way....this is just so cool to be here in the room with Nancy and Wayne!

At the hospital...

Here we are at the hospital wasting time while we wait for Breiden to arrive. Contractions are getting harder but they are still bearable. We'll post some more pictures as things progress! Thanks again for the prayers!

Goin for it!

Hey all! Just want to ask that you be in prayer today for this mama and papa and this little one that God has created. We're going in this morning to be induced. I'm a little nervous just cuz it's the first time but we are both just so excited to finally meet little Breiden! Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! We love you guys.

The arrival of baby is soon!!

Well, I went for my appointment yesterday and everything is looking great. And yes, the baby is still growing....ack! My doc scheduled me for next Thurs the 18th to come in and start the inducing process. He said that he doesn't want to force the baby out so he'll just do a little of the medication to get things going. I'm thinking that this baby will want to come out though, because I've been feeling some contractions already. Maybe sooner than later! I just can't wait to meet the little guy. Oh wait, he's not so little... I just can't wait to meet our goliath baby! Keep checking back for updates!

Update on Baby

I had an ultrasound and doc appointment today. Baby Breiden is about 7 lbs 12 oz or so. He has potential to grow bigger by the day. He has quite a large head and long legs. He is doing very well and doc says I'm looking good. He won't let me go past my due date and if it gets close to that, he'll induce. But as of now, it's on schedule. I've had some more intense Braxton Hicks and doc says I've thinned out a little so this baby could be coming out just around the corner! I'm so thankful that everything is looking good and he is healthy and growing! PTL!

The Tour of Coffee 2007

Our last stop of the coffee tour was a great little coffee shop called Babs. You feel like you're in Seattle when you're here. Very cute. We shared a cup of Raspberry tea with a lemon slice!

First stop was Starbucks for a Caramel Machiato and a delicious Cinnamon Dolce Latte!

Next, we went to Selah Coffee house and tried a Chai Latte. Very yummy!

Yup, that's Breiden balancing the coffee on his bum! We're so proud of him. (We have another ultrasound tomorrow to find out just how big he is!)

Wayne LOVES his java.

(I apologize that these pictures are not in order). We had a great time in Fargo. It was a quick decision to go. We decided that we won't be able to be so spontaneous as soon as Breiden makes his way into this world, so we'd better enjoy it while we can! Good times to be together, enjoying each other's company and some good ol' cuppa joe too.

Pregs 33 Weeks

Here I am at 33 weeks. Wayne and I are at the Hillcrest annual Christmas banquet. It was a good time! Fun to see all the students dressed up and lookin' spiffy!

We bought a little artificial tree at Target and set it up last night. I have to find all my decorations before we can get it looking a little more like a Christmas tree. It's cute. Both Wayne and I are taller than it. Haha. We're slowly getting the house in order. It'll be so nice when it's all done.

"Sew"-fun times with Alison!

I had so much fun with Alison on Saturday night! I went over to her house and she helped me sew a bumper pad and a blanket for Breiden. They both turned out so great! Thank you Alison so much! Looking forward to another 'craft' time with you!

Here's a couple of pics of Breiden's room so far. We haven't moved much in yet. Just a little dresser and a chair. Hopefully we'll get the crib and changing table in today or tomorrow! It's so exciting. I love all the little clothes and shoes. So fun!

Clogged drains...urghl.

Well, our pipes are acting up. Clogged shower drain, toilet makes funny noises and if we take a shower or run the water too long...the water comes up the sink drain and makes some funny glugging and gurgling noises. As we speak, there's some workers here trying to figure it out. I hope they can find a solution. We'll see.

Photo shoot

My best friend Erin and I had a wonderful time together when I was up in Canada visiting family and friends. We spent the whole day together laughing, shopping, having coffee at Second Cup, laughing some more, catching up on eachother's lives, reminiscing, eating supper together, having a photo shoot and of course laughing some more. Such good times with my bestest friend of almost 15 years. Wow, we've had such a journey together, haven't we Erin? I'm so glad that I have you in my life. Even though we're so far away, things between us will never change. I love you so much my dear dear friend. You hold a very special spot in my heart! Can't wait to see you in the new year.

Hey everyone... I've heard from a few people that our blog isn't working so this is just a test.

New house, new shoes, new love for Grey's Anatomy

Hey everyone! Just want to give you a few updates from us Stenders. I just got back from Canada last Saturday. Had a great trip there for one week. It got a little chaotic at times with all 9 of my nieces and nephews but it was so fun. I will post some pics but our home computer is packed away at the moment.
While I was visiting family and friends in Canada, my wonderful hubby was busy moving our belongings to our new purchased home. We haven't actually moved in to live because he's been ripping out gross carpet and refinishing the beautiful hardwood floors underneath. Next, we will paint the whole main level with colors of our choice. Right now, it has awful wallpaper and spongepainting. Urgh. We are living at Wayne's brother and sister-in-law's house. They are so great to let us come and move in on them! Hopefully, we can get into our home this weekend.
As for the rest of our lives...I have blisters on my feet because I got some new shoes that I love and keep wearing even though my feet are suffering. Baby Breiden is doing somersaults and karate kicks ALL THE TIME and I love it. Wayne too! We are now hooked into some great TV like Project Runway, the Office and of course... Grey's Anatomy! We didn't have a TV last year, so we didn't watch a lot. I missed out on last season but I've been caught up and now we both love Grey's.
Work is going good for both of us. It's been fun for Wayne to be up at the school. He really enjoys what he does and he's definately good at it. The students LOVE him and they all hang out in the Campus Ministries office all the time. It's great. I'm at Bethel Church and it's awesome. I'm learning some new computer programs and really enjoying the staff. I also love that it's part-time.

Pregs 23 weeks

Well, there you have it! If you haven't figured it out from the top picture with the big arrow and the word...BOY, on the left side...then I don't know where your brain is! Yay, baby stender is a BOY! We are so excited with this little blessing. And can't wait to meet him. I had my first ultrasound today and that was such a cool experience. We got to see everything from his little fingers and toes to his kidneys and inside his brain! So neat. He is healthy and growing at a good rate. His heartbeat is totally normal and he was movin' around like crazy...kicking and trying to suck his thumb! I still haven't felt him yet but any day now, I'm sure! His estimated time of arrival is January 23, 2007. So we'll see if he sticks to that date! Maybe he'll enter the world on his daddy's birthday...Jan 21. God is so good!
